Frequently asked questions
Do you treat anxiety?
Yes. I work with clients experiencing anxiety-related concerns, including excessive worry, racing thoughts, emotional overwhelm, and difficulty relaxing or sleeping. Therapy focuses on practical coping strategies, emotional regulation, and increasing a sense of control and calm.
What do you mean by mood-related concerns?
Mood-related concerns can include persistent sadness, irritability, emotional ups and downs, low motivation, or feeling emotionally disconnected. Therapy focuses on understanding emotional patterns, building coping skills, and improving overall emotional well-being.
How do I know if therapy is right for me or my family?
If you are feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or concerned about your child or family dynamics, therapy can be a helpful starting point. An initial consultation allows us to determine whether my services are a good fit for your needs.
What is parenting support therapy?
Parenting support therapy helps parents develop effective parenting strategies, strengthen parent-child relationships, and build confidence in parenting ability through a parent-focused approach. Support is tailored to each family’s unique needs and challenges.
How do you support parents dealing with overwhelming stress or burnout?
Many parents experience guilt, exhaustion, and self-doubt. Parent Support Therapy focuses on helping parents find balance between responsibility and self-care, manage stress more effectively, improve emotional wellness, and rebuild parental confidence which leads to better parent-child relationships.
Do you offer co-parenting counseling?
Yes. Co-parenting counseling helps parents improve communication, reduce conflict, and create more consistency for their children. Sessions are child-focused and may include guidance on conflict resolution, boundaries, and navigating parenting after separation or divorce.
Do you work with children affected by divorce or family conflict?
Yes. I help children, ages 12 and older, process emotions related to separation, divorce, and family transitions in an age-appropriate and supportive way. Therapy may include emotional identification, coping skills, and strengthening communication with parents and caregivers. There maybe times when parent participation is required.
